Public Plans Data

The Public Plans Data website is developed and maintained through a collaboration of the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College, the MissionSquare Research Institute , the National Association of State Retirement Administrators, and the Government Finance Officers Association.

The new Public Plans Data website has:

• plan-level data for 229 state and local pension plans;
• over 100 variables; and
• annual data since 2001.

It allows users to:

• browse “quick-fact” pages containing key statistics on individual plans and in the aggregate;
• search data in real-time and produce customized tables by selecting specific variables; and
• download the raw data to conduct in-depth analysis.
